About

When I was a little girl, I would ask my mother why different things happened. She would always say, “When you grow up, why don’t you become an engineer/doctor/scientist/fill-in-the-blank and find out?” And here we are…

As a social worker with homeless addicts in north St. Louis city, poverty and economic equality are important to me.

I love research and am shifting my focus from the consequences and characteristics of poverty to the social structures that perpetuate it.

For now, I am using this blog as a virtual “lab,” if you will, to explore these ideas.

I try to keep this as neutral as possible, though I know that won’t be totally possible. I welcome opposing views and things I haven’t thought of.  I like a (respectful) dialogue!

I keep several other blogs, more for fun:

I Didn’t Just Wake Up This Morning with a Craving: http://didntjustwakeup.wordpress.com/ , for exercises in the Daily Prompt and other random thoughts.

Nerd FLowering: http://nerdflowering.wordpress.com/ . To indulge and play with my nerdier loves.

I’ve never come across any blog, designed as yours.
    I love it.
